Small Ministry Teams

SMT’s are available when someone has a problem that they want to explore through prayer and ask Gods help about. This is in a deeper way than is normally achieved through prayer ministry after a service or in a small group.

What normally happens is that 2 or 3 people will meet up with a person for 1-2 hours, once a week or fortnight, for 3-4 sessions. Please note that issues are explored through prayer and listening to God, this is not counselling.

The aims of SMT’s are to provide a safe and private place where:
-    The root issues of a person’s problems, whether emotional, physical or spiritual, can be identified and brought into the light of God for his healing and restoration.
-    A person can be heard and understood without judgment.
-    A person can experience true acceptance and love from others and God.
-    A person can begin to understand and live out the wholeness and freedom that the Bible promises them through Jesus Christ and better understand their place in the family of God.
-    A person can be accountable during this time of prayer.

Whilst wonderful healing and freedom can be experienced through prayer, just as important is an ongoing relationship of discipleship with Jesus and being accountable to one or more close Christian friends. It is therefore essential that before you receive SMT prayer, you are already integrated in a Canterbury Vineyard small group.

If you think that you could benefit from meeting with an SMT please speak to your small group leader, who, if he/she agrees it would be beneficial, will speak to the SMT co-ordinator to arrange it.

If you are interested in being involved with this ministry please speak to Mike Saunders or contact him on 07976 251593 or email.
