On Tuesdays in June we have been re-calibrating our understanding of the Christian life... literally re-writing it.  For so many of us the gig has been about sin management (Dallas Willard's term, not mine) or moral improvement.  But these offer no real hope for this world, for this life.  They are either pie in the sky or hopelessly optimistic about human nature (in a plug my ears and whistle a happy tune kind of way).  

Jesus came to call Disciples;  Followers of His teachings, empowered by His Cross and His Spirit, that walk in His authority and do "even greater things" than He did.  Disciples "seek to BE what their rabbi IS," not mere students who "know what he knows."  The loss of understanding about this difference has been utterly catastrophic to the church in the West.  And we want to sow into the DNA of CV a right understanding so that we can be all He has called and empowered us to be.  But if you have the wrong target you'll never get there!!
