Livewires is Canterbury Vineyards Kids Church
We cater for children aged between 4 and 10.(If you are visiting and your children are above this age they are more than welcome to come along and join us!)
Livewires starts at 10:45am every sunday morning.
Kids Church general weekly plan (likely to almost definitely change every single week but hey, it will give you a rough idea!):
10:45-11:00 Welcome and games
11:00-11:05 Prayer/worship facilitated by leader
11:05-11:20 Intro game/recap previous weeks teaching if part of a series)
11:20-11:40 Main teaching input
11:40- 12:15 Main teaching activity including games, art and craft, drama or clips of a DVD
12:15-12:30 Ministry time
12:30 Tidy time and Pick up time!
Parents must come and collect their children at the end of the church service. Children will not be released without their parents personally collecting them unless the Leader has been alerted to and has agreed to a change of plan.
At times the children will have 'take away tasks' to complete at home. This is NOT homework but rather an opportunity for the parents to share in some of the teaching that their children are participating in on a Sunday morning.
VISION STATEMENT:
At Canterbury Vineyard we strongly believe that God loves each and everyone of us, from the youngest to the oldest. Because we are sure of the value and the love that Jesus has for us, we are intent on caring for and teaching our 'Livewires'(everyone who calls Canterbury Vineyard home and is aged between 4 and 10) to the best of our ability. We want our children to have the best, so we work hard to provide them with a loving, honest and safe environment in which they can grow closer to Jesus through shared reading of the bible, games and drama activities based around key gospel teachings and an assortment of other activities intended to support children building their faith.
KEY VALUES:
1. To support children in their understanding of grace and to help them be secure in the knowledge that Jesus died for our sins by going to the cross and that we can not be saved through our actions.
2. To teach children about forgiveness using biblical teaching to support their growing understanding.
3. To aid parents in teaching children the importance of family, again using biblical teachings to support this.
4. To teach children about how to be an active evangelist in their spheres of relationships though praying for friends and asking God how they can serve their peers.
5. To teach children why repentance is a crucial component in being a follower of Christ.
