If you fit into any of those catergories then The Sound Team NEEDS YOU! Why? Well I'll tell you...

We at Vineyard use music as a key part of our worship, its essential therefore that the music sounds good so that the musicians that we're blessed with at Vineyard can serve effectively and the worshippers can worship. You can have the most gifted musicians in the world on a stage, but without a decent sound man or woman to twiddle the knobs, it can still sound like a racket. Operating the sound desk then, becomes a key part of the ministry at Vineyard and a really easy area to serve in!

Is that it then? Twiddling knobs?

Of course not. There's sliders as well! Thankfully we have been blessed with access to the Warehouse that we now use, and as such we have a permanent set up of sound gear, all rigged up and ready to go. However are blessed with the ability to rotate worhsip bands and musicians, so its never the same every service and tinkering is always required of some sort. Some times things go wrong, dont work and need know-how to fix it, change cables, troubleshoot and so on. But most of the time its hassle-free. So dont worry too much.

We have guys to do sound. Why do we need more?

The majority of the guys who operate the sound desk at the moment are also musicians or serving in other ares of Vineyard life. As such its unfair to keep asking the same people to do it over and over again, each week. Therefore we're trying to get on board a large enoug team so that we can have a rota going, so that you would only have to be there and do it one service a month. This would be great.

I'm interested. But have no idea what to do!

No worries. Once we get a good team together we will be running 'training' days where we can get together with the 'experts' amongst our community and go over how everything works. What's connected to what and how it all goes together so that everyone is prepared for everything. I've probably made it all sound more daunting than it actually is. So don't panic!
