Paziols, France

We believe that our proximity to France is not an accident and that part of our CV call is to pray for and have Kingdom influence in France.  We are starting to establish relationships with some key people in north of France who are keen to explore how we might work together to promote the Gospel, seek his Kingdom and see lives and communities impacted by God’s mercy and grace.  These are early days and so we are keen to keep an open mind and heart to what the Lord wants to do, and how we might serve in this.

In September we sent two teams to a small village Nr Perpignan, called Paziols, to work alongside the Church there.  The first team was made up mostly of Interns who are starting on a year’s discipleship course with CV.  The second team was made up of other CVers who were keen to experience working with a church in the village community.

The Church in Paziols was planted 22 years ago by Mike and Mireille Oakes who were sent out by Ichthus Christian Fellowship, based in London.  The Church is called “La Cascade” (The Waterfall) and is very much part of the village community and the wider region.  Our involvement with La Cascade involved picking grapes in the Vineyards owned and rented by Mike and Mireille (the income from this helps to keep the church running from the ground floor of their house!), praying, prophesying, worshipping and developing relationships.  It was exhausting work but rewarded by the fellowship, food and wine mingled with and upheld by the Lord’s presence!

Both teams have come back with renewed vigour and a desire to pray for France, Paziols and La Cascade.  It was such a good trip that the teams want to go back next September for an encore!  We are exploring this with Mike and Mireille and it is possible that we would need 2 or 3 small teams of 6 to go out next September.  This is not for the faint hearted, and you cannot pre-book yet until we know what would work best for La Cascade.

Watch this space for updates on France  - but please pray for our close family across the Channel.
